ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the public relations practice and corporate image of Nigeria Immigration Service using NIS, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State as a case study. Specifically, the study aimed at ascertaining the nature of public relations practice in NIS, Uyo; the objectives and functions of public relations unit of NIS, Uyo; the public perception of the corporate image of NIS, Uyo and how public relations practice in NIS, Uyo has contributed to its corporate image. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 100 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that the the nature of public relations practice in NIS, Uyo is effective and has enhanced to a high extent employment and management of employees. The findings also revealed that the public perception of the corporate image of NIS, Uyo is good. The findings further revealed that public relations practice in NIS, Uyo has contributed to its corporate image. The study recommend Nigeria Immigration Service should continue to strive higher in implementing more public relation strategy to promote their organisation set goal.
